I just bought the last m5 lower on the internet and now need to figure out if i am smart enough to build the upper when some magic day i find a 12.5 barrel.
I'd like to buy a ready made 12.5 aero precision upper but i don't know if i can wait that long. Short .308s are the sex.
Aero uppers are easy to put together. I managed to build one without a bench vice, so I'm certain that most of the tards here are capable of assembling one with a little bit of time watching brownells videos.
Seriously, i'm fucking excited. Since i was young i always thought the idea of a short .308 was amazingly cool. Now seems like the time. And honestly those aero precision m5 lowers and uppers look like the sex.
I might be smart enough to build my own upper with an adjustable gas block and a rail with extraneous rails i don't need but want desperately.
SBA3 brace, drop in trigger with a good pull in the 3lb range and a good optic. Law folding adapter. Magpul all the things.

Probably a mid-range/mid-value scope around the $600 mark. Going to hold off for a while. Just bought my first scope in mills and going to figure that out over the next couple months and see if I like it vs. MOA.
Got an arken, the new sh4, its pretty good, seemed to track well, clarity seems on par with burris xtr scopes, could see .223 impacts on steel at 700. Its pretty good value wise. Tracking is super clicky, and seems to be true, and be repeatable. Mounts are expensive unless you get theirs, but I just went with a regular 34mm mount. Lead time is a bitch though
Price just dropped another $30 a week after I ordered one, as is tradition. Definitely the best under $1k imo, plus I prefer the EBR-2D over the newer EBR-7C reticle. This is cheaper than used Viper PSTs
Keep a look out for used reloading setups from old retired dudes, online and at estate sales. You can get some crazy value in a whole bundle of equipment, set up and ready to go
