I firmly believe he did the bump stock ban as a show of good faith to dems on working bipartisanly. It was right after this that tensions got tight between him and dems. They wouldn’t do him any favors so he said fuck it. I don’t think we need to worry about further stepping. He recognizes he hurts his base with it and won’t get anything out of it.
I think that was the intention but it was still retarded. The Dems refused to work with him on anything so why bother on this one? I still hugely pro Trump (check my TD history) but this is a legitimate complaint against him

Stepper is lingo for people who infringe on gun rights. "Don't tread on me" becomes "don't step" and those who step, are steppers.
