My guess is she's one of the few who actually puts in range time.
Minute of headshot at 12 yards should be a guaranteed hit at a relatively stationary target. Not her fault knife-man didn't know how to hold a hostage correctly
This was my home town. SLCPD is pretty good with situational shooting training and hostage shots are practiced regularly.
In 2010 a soldier went AWOL with his full armor, helmet, and M4. Tried to get to the roof of a hotel. When an SLCPD cop drove up the soldier started shooting through the windshield and hit the cop in the leg. The cop out of the car, rolled, fired three shots at 75 ft, and hit the soldier right in the face.
In 2013 a man broke into a house and started stabbing the sisters who lived there. They ended up on the split landing of a basement staircase with the man holding a knife to the hostage throat. In almost pitch black, an SLCPD officer took a single shot and hit the hostage take in the forehead as he went to stab the hostage in the throat.
There are a lot of really good shots with SLCPD. A lot of terrible shooters too, but they actually invest a lot of time into precision shooting.
Pretty risky shot by the female officer

She’s a badass that’s for sure.

This wasnt a very fast shot either - a full 2 seconds to line everything up
Definitely something police should know
