When you call people poors is when I break out one of the Colts. The tacticools pretty well shut the fuck up when you pull out a Model 733 and go full D60 dump because you can…while wearing a condor war belt to boot.
Or take 15 minutes to haul out the M1919A2 and ammo cans full of belts of .30-06. Nothing like firing off ammo at the 2021 rates of $900 a minute.
Condor isn’t quite the airshit it once was. Their quality has improved over the past 2-3 years. My main competition rig is mostly HSGI, although with a condor douche pouch and admin/utility pouch. But that set up was about $400 even with the two condor pouches.
I have four of the condor knock offs that cost me $50 to $80 each with all the knock off pouches. I have one set up like my HSGI belt as a spare to give to friends that might be wanting to shoot a match or take a class. Another one is set up for shotgun that I use for bird hunting and a shotgun match that’s held once a year. I have two more set up for survival/camping/hiking. I keep one in each car. I’ve used the hiking one now for about 15 day hikes and several more overnights in the past 3-4 years. It’s held up.
Now the condor stuff has shit buckles and needs the H-harness not to slip down. I just use the HSGI riggers belt with my main rig and it stays in place even loaded down and moving during stages. It’s not going to hold up for 6 months in the sandbox.
But let’s face reality: if it hits the fan so bad that you need gear to last six months chances are you aren’t going to live that long anyway. Now if it’s for a few days maybe even a couple weeks…it will be just fine.
Once again I'll give them props for trying something different. Every time though I see something like the CP33 I realize that I can get a 22 Charger and brace for less money and know for sure the 25 round mags will actually work...
I bought my Five-seveN IOW (one with the rounded trigger guard) for around $850 back in the mid-2000's. But, yeah, the ammo has always been a bitch to find and expensive.
Reloading looks like a belt fed machine gun. Fortunately I have plenty of practice on that.
Get the larue trigger, a good BCG, and a barrel that's 4150 steel w/Chrome lined chamber and barrel. I know some people will say nitride is just as good, but who knows what the future holds as far as getting replacement barrels will be. Chrome lined barrels will just last longer.
I'm looking for a 20" pencil barrel that's chrome lined a non-f marked FSB. Going to build a C7 (Aka A1 with brass deflector) upper. Luth-Ar has a C7 upper with M4 feed ramps.
Went by my local academy today. Even the shotgun shells are now cleaned out, even the expensive duck hunting non-toxic shit that's $30 a box. Went by the Wal-Mart across the street and same story: not a box of ammo in the store. Went by Dicks just to see...and nada there as well. Even the shotgun shells are gone now.
With talk of secret police forming, reeducation camps, etc. from the non-enlightened thinkers on the left people know what is coming. I think they knew last year when things really hit the fan.
During the Obama years I could easily walk into a Walmart down at the farm and pick up a 100 round box of shotgun shells and go shoot clays.
Talking with the guy at the counter one of the things he was saying is that while the ammo factories are up and running 24/7 that they are doing so at reduced capacity because of COVID limiting them to 25 - 50% capacity of the building.
