Thank your fellow liberal gun owners for putting their virtual signaling over our 2A. Firearm channels that do not actively promote 2A activism and staunch beliefs need to be held accountable, too many firearm channels (looking at you Gun Jesus, Karl from Inrange, and many others) refused to vote for "orange man" and instead voted for a candidate that supports such a sweeping gun control platform that makes Hillary look pro gun.
No more of these liberal gun channels, they are WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. Demand 2A activism from those that profit from it!
We’re keeping the Senate. Biden’s federal gun policy is DOA. HOWEVER! Four years from now shills will be saying stuff like, “see Biden didn’t do any anti-gun stuff! Vote for him!” Don’t forget what he promised to do.
Also, there is a possibility Trump still pulls off the general. He obviously won legitimately, but it remains to be seen how far the D’s fraud will go.
Executive orders and ATF reclassification could do plenty
Pretext: I voted Trump and will never vote liberal
I am not too worried about our 2A rights as long as some insane tragedy doesnt fucking happen. It is funny, the same liberals that think violence in movies/games/music etc doesnt influence peoples behavior but believe that the gun is what causes the issue seem to not see the same standard they use to protect their shit they use to attack ours. Its a mental illness issue that is clearly not being addessed
That being said, legally, they would have to overcome landmark cases that struck after the "Assault Weapon" Ban was lifted. That is not an easy feat, in laymans terms, if basically trying to prove double jeapoardy. This isnt some case that they pack the court and the supreme court looks the other way, it would be stopped by lower courts even before then.
Just trying to be optomistic and rational
All Biden has to do is give the ATF free reign to start to reclassify whatever they feel or make it harder to import firearms.
We thought the same thing in New Zealand until the Christchurch massacre, our semi-autos on a standard licence were basically neutered "assault weapons" in that we couldn't have flash hiders. bayonet lugs, pistol grips etc and mag capacity of 7 max (solely to remove garands) as well as more traditional hunting semi-autos like the Remington 7400.
However we did have an additional endorsement (E-cat/MSSA) to the licence which was a little harder to get but allowed everything semi-auto you could think of with the exception of overall length needing to be 30.19" minimum to avoid it being classified as a pistol.
Only 8k of the 250-300k licence holders in NZ had that endorsement and accounted for 0% of gun crime since 1992 when that endorsement/law was created. When they said they were banning all semi auto centrefire rifles they also included bolt/lever/pump rifles with mag/tube capacity over 10 and all shotguns with detachable mags and tubes with capacity over 5 rounds of whatever the chamber size was, but this was not at all reported in the media, it was just "military-style semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles" so much for just semi-auto centrefire rifles.
We thought people with an "E-cat" endorsement would be fine, we were very wrong. They got rid of the endorsement and reclassified all semi-autos as military style semi-automatics including the traditional hunting ones and they were all banned. The govt also changed arms export laws at the same time so we could not sell overseas to get better pricing than the lowball offer the govt gave.
They have now just recently banned pump action rifles with detachable mags completely which boned many an ex AR15 owner who bought a Remington 7600's or Troy PAR15's so they could continue to put their expensive as fuck acogs to use, they have also tried to ban pistol carbine kits but just made them require registration (like pistols) and pistol endorsement and also created 2 new class of pistol called a "small semi auto pistol" which has a max length of 15.7" to sop people from putting a long barrel in their glock and using a carbine kit at the same time turning it into a Prohibited pistol (the other class).
You tists need to fight this as hard as you can and everyone should be buying more guns and boats lest you end up like us because as you can see from New Zealand, if you give them an inch they will take 10 miles. Unfortunately New Zealand doesn't have the same culture around firearms compared to the US and a lot of our licence holders are fudds that think you only need a single shot .308 and an over/under 12ga so there was very little push back with the exception of the 3gunners/service match shooters etc and one political party who went from 1 politician to 10 politicians in the election last month as a result.
Despite the ban there has only been 56k firearms handed in, our largest retailer alone has imported at least 60k norinco sks rifles since the 80's so when our govt/police call it a success it was actually a dismal failure.
Ironically, despite what the media said, full-auto and select fire actual assault rifles held on a collector endorsement were left alone so my working machine guns are still legal for now but the slippery slope is no longer a fallacy.
While I like the optimism, Biden could use the Bump Stock Ban precedent and executive order ARs and other scary guns as NFA items and I do not have $4200 to spend on tax stamps, nor am I going to give them up easily. As the 2nd goes, as goes the country
That's the upside of no registration/no national registry. They won't confiscate what they don't know about. This is why I try not to share anything personal online.
Yeah, but then it’s just a waiting game of attrition. After a few years of gun owners being too afraid to practice our rights we will be viewed as an even crazier and further fringe group than we are already demonized as. After a while a very ignorant public opinion will easily be swayed to outright ban them.
That's now our issue in NZ, plenty of banned firearms still out there that people didn't hand in but no one can use them except our outlaw mc and ethnic gangs who generally disregard the law anyway.
Even if our laws change in the future to allow them again, they will likely need to be registered so anyone that held onto them won't be able to register them as they were unlawfully held so they end up in the same place, some pvc piping buried in the back yard.
An ironic unintended consequence to the govt and police is that the 99% of firing ranges in NZ are privately owned by individuals or owned by clubs, as per law they all have to have range standing orders that all users need to agree to. Those RSO's all prohibit the use of "prohibited firearms" and NZ police have to abide by them when using the ranges for training. Every club that has been approached by police to put an exemption in their RSO's to allow them to use their bushmasters for training have told them to go and pound sand.
This means that police can only use their one range and 2 military base ranges for training for the entire police force nationwide which is a massive inconvenience to them. The club that I am a member of has downright banned police from using the range in any official category, individual officers can join and use the range as a private member but cannot use prohibited firearms. Unlike the US, NZ police cannot take their service weapons home or to the range outside of official training or on the job callouts where firearms are specifically needed.
It's just insulting. I'm sure Karl and Ian would be fine so long as their collection remains intact and they can engage in shooting sports, screw everyone else. Would it be so much to ask for any support against the grabbers even in a generic non-partisan way?
Is Ian actually a liberal? I thought I saw an ancient Reddit AMA from him where he said he leaned libertarian?
And yeah I know Karl is a piece of shit I saw his discoed
Canadian here, most Canadians don't give a shit about gun control laws, and those who have an opinion know they don't do anything and oppose pretty much all of them. Only the small minority of Canadians want gun control and they should suck start shotguns.
I doubt the ar 15 will be banned in the USA in my life time
