Giving this a try to see if it helps people hang around and engage with the community a little bit more. Spicy memes and gun bunnies are great but we all know the one thing that keeps us together is our love of the firearms that guarantee our freedom.
If you have questions about guns, training, ammo, etc. etc. and don't feel like getting joke answers in a standalone post of a site dedicated to shitposting, ask it here.
For the people who would like to answer questions, please keep it somewhat serious. Lighthearted humor is fine but I'd like to keep the actual autism out of this particular post.
If this seems effective, I'll try to get one stickied every week
Why do people have such strong negative opinions of Colt as a company?
The ones I’ve run into who are anti-Colt don’t like them because they’re coasting on the name recognition of when they used to make quality guns. They used to produce decent stuff, but they focused on military contracts to fund the company. When they lost the M4 contract and declared bankruptcy, the holding company tha owns them wanted to get more revenue from the average citizen, so they started making things like the Python again to try and capture the magic of the past. So now the stuff they’re making is modern production run quality but they’re charging a premium for the name and a lot of people don’t feel like it’s worth the price.
Have they done anything that’s anti-2A?
Refused to sell AR to civilians a couple times...
Not as bad as some of the shit others have pulled like Springfield and S&W.
They just stopped selling the LE-series AR's to civilians
Well it depends, old Colt or new Colt. Old Colt stuff is great. My SP1 and CAR15 are 70's/80's vintage and both run great. They're good guns. Same with 1950's and 60's vintage wheel gats I have. Their newer stuff though...they charge for the name, but you can get the same or better quality for 2/3rds the price.
