Questions is sort of stupid but why do police even use tasers? I’ve seen so many dash cam and body cam videos and where they just don’t work at all no matter how much the suspect gets shocked and then they pull out a gun and shoot the cops. I’m not trying to make some sort of “back the blue” or thin blue line argument I just honesty don’t get why tasers seem so ineffective

While true, my grand-pappy (WW2 MP) had several stories of rumbling with city cops who got too baton-happy. They used to tap on cars with batons to get your attention, attempted intimidation, ect.
Back then you could have literal fistfights with cops if they stepped over the line, lol
Eh, I feel like there's less chance of getting unnecessarily roughed up with a taser vs a baton.
I don't really see the need for batons except in large group scenarios.
