So the ATF fucked over Tommy Built Tactical. For those that don’t know who he is he makes HK clones of the G36 (wish I wasn’t poor so I could afford one). He had been making them for years and one day the gay boys at ATF decided that his guns were machine guns (despite ATF approving the design years ago as good to go for civilians). They said they were “easy to turn into machine guns”. They made him recall all the guns and design a new receiver. That was after Tommy’s lawyers got involved. They could have flat out banned the G36 clones for no reason at all. My autism is tingling and I feel like they could do that with all the scary baby killing polymer rifles. The ATF would just say your AR-15 or AK-47 is convertible to a machine gun and evil and make it illegal because no new machines guns After 1986 (thanks Ronald Reagan). Really they could use that smooth brained logic on any self loading firearm and that wouldn’t require any public comment period (meaning they create law out of nothing without any elected officials input - like an authoritarian government). I am a schizo for thinking Tommy Built is a dry run to see what they can get away with? His company was small so that’s probably why they decided to pick on him.
