8th month of the year … I guess that means something but I don’t have it in me to come up with some witty paragraph that encompasses our autistic love of firearms and near radical hatred of our current government so just use your imagination to pretend I said something profound but also hilarious.

The youtube channel Task and Purpose had some surprisingly great points about the polymer cases that I wouldn't have thought of.
While it might not be that much for everyday foot sloggers, it's' a huge design leap forward for helicopters and gunships. The considerable weight reduction of ammo is huge for airships to either allow them to carry more ammo/gear, or conserve more fuel and potentially linger near the vital areas longer.
Also, the fact that the polymer casings do a phenomenal job insulating machine gun receivers from heat instead of conducting it means that the barrel is about the only thing that will really heat up quickly. Saw the T&P guy fire a belt through one of the LMGs, and then pop the top, and laid his hand on the inside of the gun, and it didn't fry like an egg, which is neat.
Here's the video, it's definitely worth a watch.
The low amount of heat was suprising and that made it harder to appear on nv.
