8th month of the year … I guess that means something but I don’t have it in me to come up with some witty paragraph that encompasses our autistic love of firearms and near radical hatred of our current government so just use your imagination to pretend I said something profound but also hilarious.

What's the long term prognosis on AK ammo? Like everyone else i always just bought tula. Now what the fuck do i do?
Fucking government.
You wait for the supply chain to catch up -
Any ammo manufacturer: "Should we make more .257 Roberts or start cranking out 7.62x39?
That's kinda my gut feeling too. I don't know how many 7.62x39mm rifles there are in the states vs 5.56 but i feel like there have to be more than enough to justify major ammo companies making a shit ton.
Tell ya what, having a 5.45 would worry the fuck out of me atm.
I don't think it's parity but there are a lot. When the Chinese AKs were imported in the 80s you could get 1000 rds. for something like $50. Lots of people got into the caliber then and even more with the $80 SKS imports. So it's had a lot of time to develop a following. When the AK kits started showing up in the late 90s even more got onboard as they were built up. Judging by the demand on $80 then Romanian G kits (selling now at $800-900) the 7.62x39 is here to stay.
Exactly. I have an AK-74 and 7N6 will likely never return from Russia.
However, you used to be able to get it around me for $99.95/1080...and you can still find Russian milsurp at $0.40cpr. A lot of people filled 20-foot containers with it when it was cheap. Hornady also makes it and there is Wolf branded stuff out of Ukraine. Would not suprise me to see Privi or Aguila making it at some point if there is demand. If you need it you can get it and shortage won't stop me from buying a VEPR in that caliber if one showed up.
