I have no idea who to root for and I honestly don’t care too much about it either country and don’t know why I should. I have never seen so much propaganda from both sides thrown out there
There is so much American, Ukrainian, and Russian propaganda about the war. I've been learning Russian and talking to many Russians and Ukrainians this past year.
Surprise surprise, a war is complex. I can't explain it very well because I struggle to understand it at times myself. There was an eight year civil war, decades of Soviet occupation and centuries of Imperial occupation before that. Just scratching the surface.
Hard to call something an occupation if there didn't exist a stable predecessor polity to occupy. It'd be like saying that Sweden, then Russia "occupied" Finland before 1917, which would only be true in the loosest sense of the word and bases on Romantic, nationalist ideals that date from the historically recent 19th century.
Steel case 7.62x39 is, once again, going back up in price.
In other news, anyone know a guy who could ship a container from the Ukraine to the US? I hear there's a farmer over there who needs a new tractor and has a spare BTR.
Realistically this is now the end of Russian ammo. Before the invasion importers had another year of approved import forms but by now I am guessing we will never see Tula or wolf again
I’m not terribly worried about 7.62x39 since a lot of other countries produce it but my 5.45 homies are going to be really hit hard but in the short term I think 7.62 will go up in price but in a year or so I think supply will be back to normal since it is a very popular caliber
Thank God for PSA because that will keep the prices down and will keep 5.45 viable since I can’t think of anywhere but Russia that makes 5.45 for Americans but I also don’t shoot it. Even without PSA doing that imported 7.62 will still be cheaper than 5.56 as it is right now
Just keep the word going out that the best time to arm a populace against an invasion, is BEFORE the invasion.
If someone moans about, 'muh gang violence's or 'muh I'm a shitty politician and I'm afraid of what you people will do to me when you find out what I've been doing to you', these things are best solved on their own through superior firepower well in advance of any invasion.
do you shoot right-hand eject ARs often? I built a correct handed AR for a lefty friend of mine and just installed an ambi safety selector and he runs it's just fine but he's also just plinking, not running comps or anything.
Haven't shot any AR yet. Just shotguns and a friend's .22.
Am left hand and eye dominant. The gas and shell ejection probably won't be an issue. Lack of left hand/ambi controls will.
Replacing fire selector, charging handle is easy. Nobody besides Kyle ever uses a forward assist so that should be ok too. Will southpaw an AR tomorrow for ya and report back.
I built a left ejecting stag arms ar and it’s great bc I’m super lefty and left eye dom as well. I forget how much all the parts cost but I think it was under $1000 considering stag’s near daily sales if you’re on their mailing list
I have been watching their sales. I've only waited this long because their customer service were kind of dicks when I asked them about availability back when their left hand models were mostly out of stock and left out of 3 sales in a row (that should have covered them) then went on sale as a "left handed sale" for less of a discount than each of those other sales. Also, the RRA LEF-T models are upgraded from the factory with two stage triggers. .. I was looking at these two:
Dang those rock river seem nice, wish I could speak to the quality.
I’ve never had to use stag’s customer service but their products have never done me wrong, given the only specifically Stag unique component I’ve ever used from them is their lefty upper, but the lowers are quality as well. I always pick up and upper/lower combo from them every now and then cuz they’re usually under 200.
Okay. This is very important that you follow these directions exactly!
First, place the AR on a solid surface.
2nd, thrust your hips forward into the gun.
3rd, thrust your hips back away from the gun.
4th, repeat step 2 and 3 until you produce your own lube or start to bleed. Either work.
5th, put that poor fucking cucked AR out of its misery and get a rifle the way St Stoner intended his creations be. Select fire without any Cuckifornia bullshit.
I want to get into AK’s, but I’m a filthy poor and I suspect AK’s are currently overpriced. Will prices come down if I wait a few years, or will WASRs always be worth $1000 like they are right now?
they will not go down in price nor will you ever be able to find affordable ammo for them again.
Keep building $400 ARs until you don't have any storage room left in the hall closet and buy a case of ammo every time you finish a build. for the price of mediocre slavshit, you now have an actually accurate rifle and the ability to feed it.
All that said, I have a century AK with 200 rounds of steel case ammo I'd sell for the low low price of $1250. all proceeds from the sale go directly to support Ukraine during this time of need*
*proceeds are taxable revenue which are reported to the IRS who then sends a portion to Ukraine via unilateral legislation which results in sending billions of dollars to a country half way around the world while our economy turns to utter shit
Already have a baby's first AR -- 5.56, 16"-barrel, sling and red dot. You suggesting I rinse and repeat, or are there any different builds I should consider?
If you want a WASR you should just buy one now because inflation is getting worse and the economy not including inflation is getting worse so everything will be more expensive and everyone but millionaires and billionaires will have less money. AK ammo won’t be as cheap as it used to be because Russia made all the steel case garbage but PSA is going to make Russian calibers in American and they’ve got a pretty good record of making things fairly cheap plus other countries import AK ammo into the US. I think AK ammo will be more expensive but in the long run still cheaper than 5.56
All good points. Normally, I'd probably wait till the economy rebounds and/or panic buying stops. But this time, I suspect we might be going past the point of no return.
Budget makes a huge difference in the optics world. If you want the best dot, it’s aimpoint. Vortex and sig both make good budget dots. EO is good too but not just a dot so some people like and some people don’t. I’ve got a couple aimpoints, a sig, vortex, and I’ve gotten rid of holosun and bushnell. Nothing wrong with them just personal preference. Favorite is aimpoint, favorite budget is sig
Bang for buck, the Sig Romeo 5 rules. About to get my second. Have heard good things about Holosun's glass as well, but their model designations confuse me.
I have no idea who to root for and I honestly don’t care too much about it either country and don’t know why I should. I have never seen so much propaganda from both sides thrown out there
It’s new NPC programming since your “elected” officials realized that Covid fear isn’t polling well enough to get “elected” again this fall.

NGL, Russian language isn't as complex as the war going on. And declining nouns sucks.
Good on you for learning Russian, though. If you get a chance, go visit. The food is great, and the people are mostly good too.
"occupation"
Hard to call something an occupation if there didn't exist a stable predecessor polity to occupy. It'd be like saying that Sweden, then Russia "occupied" Finland before 1917, which would only be true in the loosest sense of the word and bases on Romantic, nationalist ideals that date from the historically recent 19th century.
How do I stop imagining myself defending my home from invaders and get back to work?
Think about the tannerite you could buy with your pay.
Shit. Now I'm thinking about that instead of working. You're not helping.
Get a puppy and have fun with it untill it expires in 12-15 years. In that time also learn to taxidermy and tannerite.
Shit dude!

sad ak noises
How will I feed my poor ak? It's scared and hungry. There was creepy old man saying scary and nasty things on the TV about it as well.
PPU brass case
Upside: non corrosive! Downside: expensive :(
Belom. Even more expensive.
But nice box.

Thoughts on psa importing Russian equipment to make steel case 7.62 & 5.45?
Thank God for PSA because that will keep the prices down and will keep 5.45 viable since I can’t think of anywhere but Russia that makes 5.45 for Americans but I also don’t shoot it. Even without PSA doing that imported 7.62 will still be cheaper than 5.56 as it is right now

Dementia in chief had a big anti gun rant in his speech failing to see the irony Ukraine handing out AKs like candy
I'm about to drop some serious coin on nvg40s and a dbal d2. Now is your chance to shit on those choices and offer the better alternative. Thanks
9mm? Am I killing ants or something?
Keep the welding goggles. Buy a blacksmith apron, high volume pump, gas hose, some pipe fittings and a nozzle. And lots of gas and styrofoam.
Light the way.
Is there a better fully ambi AR-15 at the 1k price point than the Sig Sauer M400 Tread Snakebite SE?
I'd been waiting for RRA to get left hand ejection back in stock, and discovered the Sig has a 2 stage trigger too
Learn to shoot right-handed, you abomination.
Won't it feel like someone else is shooting it if I use my off hand?
do you shoot right-hand eject ARs often? I built a correct handed AR for a lefty friend of mine and just installed an ambi safety selector and he runs it's just fine but he's also just plinking, not running comps or anything.

Their customer service said they expect to be back in stock sometime this year...
Then I learned about the Sig Tread SE... two stage trigger and fully ambi, same price point as the RRA guns, and in stock.

Talk me out of a PS90 for reasons other than it costing $500 to have a fun day at the range with it
It looks stupid if you don't make it an SBR and then the ATF will come shoot your dog.
Was about to buy a Judge or Governor but can't find .410 other than home defense anywhere.
Only want it for 7.5 shot close dispatch. But no ammo for the last 9 months.
https://ammoseek.com/ammo/410-bore
Federal made 5.7 is bad my friend has one and he only shoots the FN ammo out of it
I was thinking of building a dedicated 22 upper for my AR.
Would it work if I just used a .22 adapter and built an upper without a gas tube?
Can't think of any reason why it won't but then, I'm a fucking idiot at times.
It will work, and you get bullet tumble right out of the muzzle because the twist won't be 1:16
So its a win win if you ask me.
Accuracy is more of a suggestion anyway.
And it's irrelevant if you send fast enough.
Make full auto accessible to everyone, not just the rich or criminals

20” cuz muh ballistics
10.5” cuz muh CQB
7” cuz muh fireball
After that you’re just building spares to arm your friends and family during the inevitable collapse of society
Build a snub nose ar.
Be a man.
Instructions unclear, now have an AR with 2.75" barrel chambered in 380 Auto. Please advise.
Short barrel in 380 auto?
Make sure it's auto. The ammo say auto, gun should be auto.

"economy rebounds"...
Yup. We're a bit past that happening at this point.
If you just want the ak operating system could try a galil in 5.56 or 308. But the sweet steel case 7.62 is going/gone for the time being.
you must mean the Fruity Ghost

Need a decent optic for ARs. Not looking for optical zoom. What's your favorite? Sig, holosun, eotech?

Right on, thanks. I do have a vortex strikefire II, and it gets the job done but it's big for a red dot. Forgot about aimpoint, I'll check them out.
I think SIG optics are made in China but not sure so they are the same thing as a holo sun
Bang for buck, the Sig Romeo 5 rules. About to get my second. Have heard good things about Holosun's glass as well, but their model designations confuse me.
Not a question but a meme suggestion.
You say vehicle, I say coffin. We are not the same.
Bonus if you use the boot loaded with javelin rockets.
