I recently inherited a 50's Marlin Model 39. It's a great gun that has seen some obvious use over the years. I was thinking of replacing the stock and forend with nicer looking ones. Is there any glaring reason not to? Sorry if this is a dumb question, new to older guns.

Put it in an archangel chassis and shoot yourself in the leg to complete the package
That's a beautiful bestgunnit answer.
You should see bestestgunnitweekend on plebbit right now, it's a bunch of edgelord commie faggots bootlicking antifa all day and reposting old, tired boog memes. I've been told to get the fuck out several times by commies. I guess they're lax on the no commie rule since it's reddit.
I honestly haven't been back on reddit in a while. This beautiful place pretty much stole my heart.
ND is life.
What is wrong with the stock? Maybe just get it refinished if it needs to. For such an old gun make sure you bring it to someone who knows what they're doing.
Obrez or bust.
Keep it original.
It's only original once.
