Help a struggling 'tist avoid some felonies and, exercise what rights he has left to him...
Are home made braces legal to put on a home made pistol reciever? Does anyone know for sure what the glowies have daned legal regarding this?
Im looking to print a Shockwave brace. Does anyone have any experience with this or, any other 3d printed braces?
Have you ever printed an AR lower? What files, filament and, settings did you use?
I know for sure in my state I have to register new pistols with my county.
I have a Prusa Mk3s but, I haven't bought the material for this yet. I use prusaslicer and, I'm inexperienced with 3d printing but, want to give this 30 steel cased shots...
Will post feet pics with updates for help
Look into the Deterrence Dispensed keybase, I'd bet you'll get good answers there.
Most of Ivan's stuff is tested in PLA, if I recall correctly.
Thanks I will for sure!
I'd send it. But I'd also not register it. That shit is unenforceable and 3d printers have been one of the last nails in the coffin for that kind of gun control shit.
In other words, just don't break any federal laws so your dog stays happy and breathing.
Ya the state law is only a misdemeanor for not registering so they just fine you. I would still be allowed to bear arms.
How would a hypothetical third party demonstrate when the frame was made? Does the frame need to be registered prior to any "proof testing" that a responsible 'tist might feel is important to perform as part of production, in the interest of public safety?
Thats a great question. I've only ever bought guns so, the date to register is 2 weeks after the sale so, I would assume 2 weeks after date of manufacturing. I do not know of any way to prove when I printed it. The county sheriff isn't super uptight so, my plan is to just say I made it on a tbd date without proof. I'll call them before I go through with it and, ask that.
That'd be a question some lawyers argue about while you sit in a cell practically speaking.
Post feet pics first and then I’ll show you my drill press.
I need to transport this so only 2 holes bro
make many holes. it confuses them.
Based as Fuck will look into this
Free men don't ask permission so don't take any pictures of that shit for glows to see. Also I know in registration states you need to do it within 7 or 10 days I think. Think about how would they be able to prove when you created it.
Well, theres no real way to prove when you made it and, I think they care more about you just registering it. I'll ask my Sheriff if they need any proof
In regards to your stock/brace question, here's how I understand it:
Brace manufacturers have to get an explicit approval from the ATF that their product is a brace and not a stock. Because by default, if it could be used a stock, then it's a stock....until you get that rubber stamp from the ATF. But the approval KAK got from the ATF applies to that specific product, and would not apply to your 3D-printed clone of it, even it was functionally/dimensionally identical.
So yeah, fucking around with that will rile up the fedbois. Either pony up for official braces, pony up for a Form 1 and SBR it, or print away but keep your dog at your neighbor's house.
Thank you for the warning. Glowies leave the safeties on, I'm gonna buy a real brace. That's not so bad though, I prefer other brace styles anyway.
CTRL Pew has the answers you need.
Thanks bro! I already got an Anderson wildfire printing!
