Cam notch is, honestly, objectively better. It's why pretty much every design in the last 70 years plus have used it. The barrel link is a weak spot in the design with the 2 pins and link needed plus crucial fitting.
The hi-power is the logical evolution of that platform and a great ancestor to most everything. It was used as the basis for the cz75 and then everything not striker fired is pretty much based on that.
I'm not touching on walthers, smith old school autos or berettas as the slide mounted safety is a tool of satan.
I didn't say it was. All I said was Browning would've chambered the 1911 in 9mm and met the French army specs. But he couldn't cause patents.
