John Moses Browning's wet dream was the M2A1, think of his creation that is actually STILL is standard use all over the world, unlike the 1911 which is almost entirely regulated to fudds and Liberal Commissioned Officers too dumb to use an M9 or M17.
So some guy shot his pistol at a passing (heavily damaged) plane out of autistic rage at being shot down. Saw it crash (because it was heavily damaged, probably by turrets that have, look at that, a set of m2 brownings) and then told all his friends in POW camp that he shot down a Zero with a pistol.
Owen J. Baggett shot down a KI-43 Japanese fighter during WW2 while dangling from his 'chute after bailing out of his bomber. He used his 1911 pistol to do so.
u/AlcohicRetard, no disagreement there. Majority of my handguns are blue steel & wood including my EDC. All have appreciated dramatically over what I paid for them years ago. Am now looking at S&W MP Shield 9MM as my EDC. Why? It's cheap and it's a tool. If I drop it and kick it across the garage floor I won't care as there are millions more just like like it. It has no inherent value beyond what it does and is not unique or collectable. All my golden era guns move into range toy category once I have my new EDC.
Aside: I used to have a model 36 RB w/ 3" barrel and a 37 Airweight. The 36 I sold off like a retard and the 37 was stolen by the cops after it was recovered after being stolen from me. Fuckers.
Wooden furniture is a very classy look from a time forgotten. I love modern gats but they all kind look the same since they use polymers and the same operating system. Every new gun that isn’t an AR or an AK uses a short stroke gas piston with a bolt carrier group reminiscent of an AR-18
Modern handguns are even more boring. With a few hammer fired exceptions they all are just Glock copies - polymer framed 9mm striker fired pistols
They're not. Your mom working and raising you in a whorehouse and her signature look being that huge bushy beaver have warped your mind to think the era of free hippies and beaver jungle was "like nirvana man". Also no 44 automag so double fail
Less plastic.
Every single gat here makes me want to vomit as I think about how much H&K this money could’ve been.
also inb4 u/Sunsetmal says some bullshit about 1911s and how he thinks they aren’t the big gai
No man, these guns are way too new to be compared to the glorious American masterpiece that is John Moses wet dream

And the M2 has a substantially more impressive kill list. Name a 1911 that has killed aircraft and destroyed vehicles.
