BAR all the way.
Or M14
Or G3
Maybe a FAL
Or try to use a M60 as a battle rifle
But Garands are just fun antiques at this point.
Ah yes. All of them bastions of accuracy.
But seriously, we've been spoiled in that department with the modern AR.
I giggle at the moist nugget tists that spout on and on about how their garbage rod can be considered sniper accurate while shooting 4 foot groups with machine gun ammo, then in the next breath say the AK is inaccurate. Then they say the AR might be considered accurate, but you'll only get a single shot off because it'll jam, all the while they are trying their damnedest to open the bolt by beating the handle with a log.
Dank Nugget fag here. I love my 91/30 and M44 latrine sticks but I would never be so bold to claim that they are accurate. In fact I think putting scopes on them are retarded be them authentic PU (Why would you spend that much fucking money on a $100 barrel gun? It won't be accurate) or a fake.
I find then fun as all hell to shoot, but god damn they never were 'accurate' for a battlerifle. Surplus gun is ment to be shot as is, just as Mosin intended, no bubba shit.
Eh, without a scope most people cant shoot better than 25 MOA standing and mosins shoot about 4 on average.
The shooty spear is still one of my favorites due to the simplistic nature in that it can be field stripped with the only tool required being the supplied bayonet/toothpick. Brilliant.
I dont disagree, simplicity is a virtue. Just saying that scoping them makes a lot of sense in a military standpoint
Though I do prefer the M44/Chinese type 54 with the attached bayonet. Soldiers are idiots and will lose detached bayonets.
I do favor my M44 as well. I love the looks of the T53 but god damn is that Chu wood stock horrendous. Anyway, the smaller meaty profile fits nicely in my hands and it is fun to quick attach the bayonet for that true factory zero shot.
*sad bubba'd sks noises
I really need to find a nice wood or thumbhole stock for mine. I turned it into a PUBG abomination.
Dude, LuckyShotGunStocks (used to be on Etsy now has their own website somewhere) makes all types (Original, Paratrooper, Thumbhole, Draganov) of SKS stocks of HIGH QUALITY wood. If there were ever something wrong with my original stock I would buy one in a heartbeat. Go order one now.
Oh my God, that SV98 one. I want. Mines a Yugo with the grenade muzzle so I need a fairly back heavy stock to balance it out.
They are all great. I've though about getting a dragonov one in Ruby finish to go with my 20 round fixed star magazine for a fun range gun. I have heard nothing but positive reviews regarding the craftsmanship from SKS enthusiasts.
Been there my dude.
If you still can, put the original furniture back on and it won't be such a pita.
Don't forget comrade best rifle double a spear and paddle!
They are accurate. What matters is shots on target. 5 out of 20 or 5 out of 5, they are equally dead and in general the former is better because then you get more brown pants rather than people shooting back
BAR's are kinda finicky given many are antiques these days.
Want something retarded?

That thing is so retarded that I feel smarter after looking at it by comparison.
Now, do you want it or not?
Ugh. Fair point, ill take 10.
Why? I have Colt Automatic Machine Rifle Model 1919.
u/IGLOO-DEVGRU, you understand the M1 Garand was developed to be reliable only with ammo used by the US military in WW2, right? That was M2 ball, 150-grain. That it may break the gas system if a steady diet of heavier grain ammo is used should not surprise anyone. And for a rifle built 80 years ago, surplused out after WW2 to countries all over the world, then reimported back to the US with a worn out barrel; 4 MOA shouldn't be a suprise either.
