What's essentially going on here is the atf taking time out of their busy days wasting tax payer money to compile the records turned in of FFLs going out of business.

All is not lost however, as to have any pertinent information some dickskin jacket has to actually look at/enter that information into a searchable database. Think about how much information that could be.

And even then, they could have rough ideas of legal sales through an FFL and maaaybe determine some folks had some ARs or stuff.

They could find out all they needed to know by searching for stuff like debit card transactions to PSA or who had a carry permit.

None of this is meant to defend any action by the worst agency in the gov, just to explain to you all what's up and how it is not the end of the world, just yet another sign of how they ignore the law when it suits them.
