WRT the pistol brace shit the ATF is doing… Hear me out: I just had a flash of brillia…excuse me retard. The number 10-40MM keeps getting thrown around regarding pistol braces in circulation, potentially designating them as common-use. WHAT IF there was a way to organize, and everyone put a stock on their pistols, so that when congress deems the ATFs recent actions unconstitutional, the common-use argument could be used on the SBR rule (or the NFA, at-large).
Edit: the penalty for owning an unregistered SBR and an unregistered pistol brace is the same at the juncture…

300 Blackout is the best caliber for an AR platform rifle. Change my mind.
honestly, 300BO is a compromise to shoehorn a round into the AR platform that doesn't do anything particularly well. It's kind of a shitty supersonic 30cal and it's a mediocre subsonic round because no one makes a good 30cal bullet that will expand under 1100FPS.
If I'm shooting 30cal, I want it to perform well at 200+ yards. 300BO doesn't perform well at those distances. if I want an AR type rifle in 30cal, an AR10 is a better choice.
if I'm shooting subsonics, it's likely because I want something quietly dead so the bullet needs to expand at subsonic velocities. So, you either have to use defense rounds made for pistols or headshot with a 22LR. A pistol caliber carbine with rounds made for self defense is a better choice. Alternatively, a dedicated 22LR AR upper.
So, in order to change your mind, I submit that instead of using 300BO to do two different things in a mediocre way you should purchase additional guns that do the job you want. It's a win-win. You get more guns and they do the job you want for them.
All that said, many things have died through the use of my 300BO but they were all within 50 yards where I could be reasonably sure my bullet selection would perform as intended.

But in all seriousness, that is a legit fear I have. I keep color-coded mags for my 300BLK. I triple check them all the time. I still have nightmares about me or my kids making a simple mistake.
