1/7 twist. Range of projectile weights. All brass case as steel is just for AKs yo.
What's your take?
Got some recipes, camera died though. Spent all my money on dog care and guns though. Which I do not regret.
Damnit guns are fucking awesome. (Looks at FALs longingly)
12.5
Facts. 12.5 carbine gas is peak 5.56.
11.5
For 5.56 and sbr length, 12.5 if unsuppressed, if suppressed 10.5 is handy. If youre open to other calibers a 12.5 grendel is supersonic to like 700-800meters, and will have 1k ft-lbs to like 200-300meters
10.5-11.5 with a can
7" sucks, 12" isn't terribly abusive. I'd probably avoid 10" based on that.
These are the ramblings of an actual pyscopath. o7 fellow autist.
How are you gonna have a sweet Mk 18 without a 10.5 inch barrel?
8.5
My CAR15 is something like 10.3 or 10.5 and it's handy in tight spaces, but ballistics beyond 200m is crap. With that twist rate you'll want to pair it with 75gr OTM or 77gr SMK bullets. 55gr loses a lot and M855 just sucks all around.
As the years wear on I think I'm kinda with Clint Smith on the fact that "God and Eugene Stoner got together and decided that a 55gr projectile was designed to go through a 20" barrel". I'm wanting to build a "modernized A1". I've got the LMT lower and furniture from brownells. But looking for a C7 upper and doing research on a 20 pencil barrel with 1/8 twist.
Pin & weld criterion 13.9 if you have to travel out of state. Room clearing and operating out of a vehicle can be done just fine with a 14.5, but i want the most velocity out of 5.56 as I can get.
