There are ~3.7 million square miles (~9.6 million square kilometers for you commie pinkos) of land in these United States. That means if they spread out, there are less than 1 per square mile. But good luck finding them among the rest of the population, the ~349 million who may actually comply with your communist dictates. If you pick someone up at random, there is only a 1 in 200 chance that they are going to shoot you in the face. If you filter by conservative views, then you've improved your odds to 1 in 100.
There are ~20 million veterans in the US, people who have been trained to fight wars. They all swore an oath to defend the constitution of the United States, not communist pedophiles who sodomize little kids until they get panda eyes.
When the fighting gets hot -- and OH BOY WILL IT GET HOT -- then you will have to militarize the entirety of the United States. And that 1% will become 2%, and that 2% will become 5%.
Are you ready to wage war on 8.75 heavily armed Americans, living in some of the most inhospitable terrain in the world, spread out among populations that are incredibly diverse?

PPS: We had laws like what you are proposing in Washington State, supposedly a "blue" state. How many people have been arrested and prosecuted for not filling out their FFA form for private transfers? I guess that means people stopped buying and selling guns, right?
