Today is inauguration day. A sacred day that every American should hold dear. This is a culmination of our democratic process that proves our system of government is the only government where our citizens choose our leaders from the best choices available and in no way could be manipulated by outside forces to sway the outcome in their favor.
There is no room for argument that the two best choices to lead this great nation are
- A lifelong politician who is bought and paid for by China, gets his family lucrative overseas business deals by abusing the powers of his office, who wants our Federal Reserve to prioritize income equality over job creation and curbing inflation, and who will appoint only LGBTQ+ PoC to cabinet positions regardless of qualification.
and
- A wealthy reality TV star who can't keep his mouth shut when he should, claims to be pro-2A but wants to take your guns first and have due process later and also bans mechanisms for shooting guns faster than your finger can pull the trigger even though it's still your finger pulling the trigger, reminds us who is our greatest ally, and played the victim game until the very end.
Surely this is result of a purely democratic selection process and in no way was orchestrated by the rich and powerful as a way to maintain control of the lowly citizens.
carry on friends, ask some gun related questions while I continue to live in willingly ignorant bliss.
Can any of you talk me down from binocular night vision, to the less expensive monocular nv?
Or justify the binos?
desired use makes a big difference. If you're actually using them for patrol then that's a way different discussion than wanting to get rid of some pests around the barn at night.
I think i get the jist of your answer.
The main application is to not be completely defenseless at night, not plinking coyotes.
You know what they say about women and image intensifier vacuum tubes, "One is fun, but two will blow your mind"
Similar proportional effect on my bank account though.
At least you can't knock up or get the clap from NODs unlike a pair of "twins" from a brothel in Singapore.
Challenge accepted.
I occasionally use my PVS-14 for night hunting and it stays on the shelf for emergency use at all other times. If I bought a PVS-7 for triple the cost, I would feel a lot worse looking at it setting unused thinking about all the ammo I could have bought with the cost difference. but you may feel differently
my desired use matched the PVS-7 because I can acquire targets in the dark and then shoot them and that's all I really care about.
if my desired use case was to actively patrol a landscape and maintain vision in both eyes while searching for targets, then stealthily approach the targets, then acquire the target and then shoot the target, then I would be better suited for binos.
in fact, a thermal scope is a better choice for me as opposed to a helmet and NVG and NV compatible optic and targeting laser+illuminator. I didn't go thermal because of the cost and then I'm limited to just the one gun at night.
Is a PVS-14 plus a thermal viable for a helmet-mounted setup? Will the images superimpose over each other like a prism optic reticle, giving the best of both worlds? It seems like it would either work or be disorientating
I don't see how that would work unless there's some piece of gear out there I don't know about, which is highly likely. I'm not real fluent in the high speed low drag market.
Thermal can't penetrate glass so you can't put the thermal behind the PVS ... and PVS gathers ambient light through a phosphor so if you put it behind a thermal then the bright images from the thermal will wash out the PVS.
maybe I'm not understanding the question
Thermal in white-hot mode right eye, white phosphorus PVS-14 left eye was what I'm imagining.
that sounds like an immensely painful headache
Were the barn racoons to figure out how to turn a light on, you'd presumably adapt a lot quicker with a single tube setup than a dual.
Autogate, bruh.
Fuck this ammo shit.
Prices are nuts, but at least you can still find it.
Any of you tists have experience with putting a romeo 5 on a 10 gauge or recommend a red dot that will withstand 10 gauge slugs.
IDK on that, but my 460 S&W killed a Holosun 507c in 8 rounds.
This guy fucks. And I mean really you can only do one cock pushup. Now I wanna listen to Tenacious D.
Just put a romeo 5 on my Benelli. Then the ammo thing happened. Soon as i try that shit i'll report back.
I am interested in your newsletter, sir.
Can we not just start a new party?
I think now is the best time, after the Republicans have shown their colors so blatantly by rolling over and siding with the democrats on the election shenanigans.
I know I for one will never vote Republican again, I'd rather "throw my vote away" than vote for someone who just wants to keep the status quo so they can keep stealing my hard earned money.
Instead, I'll vote for anyone promising to cut all taxes by 50%, break up Google/Facebook/Twitter, completely defund (and end) the public education system in favor of private schools, and overturn all gun laws.
Also, universal term limits, all that noise.
Anyone else noticed that people are being ‘charged with participating in the DC Riots’ but nobody was ever charged with ‘looting, assault, and burning down the businesses of their neighbors’ in any of the other dozen incidents from the past two years?
I mean, arresting someone for doing something firey but mostly peaceful? It's against the rules!
On a scale of zero to chewy like a fat chick, how do you prefer your jerky? I used to go for the rawhide style but I've turned more towards cuts against the grain and less chewy lately when making it.
I like mine easy to chew. probably about a 6 or 7 on your meat stick scale.
I've also been taking it off a little bit sooner than I did before to get that not-quite-juicy-but-still-soft texture. My family eats it so quickly after it's finished I don't have to worry about spoilage.
Funny you mention that. I had some thicker cuts on the last batch that had the not quite moist but not jerky dry texture that were really good. I worried about them spoiling but they were fine in a bag for a few days. Reminded me of those beef steak snacks from the haji mart. Delicious.
What should a new 3D printer owner who wants to print and build his own Glock be aware of? Who are the best vendors for parts that lead to cost savings over purchasing a Glock at retail price?
You are going to have a tough time saving much cost over a retail Glock. It's more a paperwork simplification thing.
Deterrence Dispensed recently got knocked off Keybase. Supposedly they are or will soon be at: chat.deterrencedispensed.com/home
That's your single best source of info for advice on actual printer settings to tweak, filament types and other technical data for optimizing the print itself.
Most of the models require metal rails on the base. These are trivial to fabricate with a mill, possible to fabricate without a mill, and usually available for purchase from someone on dd.
Note that most of the models out there will be for a Gen3 Glock, so that is what you'll likely want.
Thank you!
Agreed, the parts kits are much more expensive than I was expecting. I'm probably going to stick to building stendos and accessories.
Print from the bottom, picking supports out of the internals sucks.
Rails still have to be metal, and embedded in your print somehow. Pretty tricky.
AR lowers are ez pz.
There are no good politicians, they are all tyrants. The only solution is to dis-empower them.
I hear tar and feathers manage that
Piston AR15 uppers. Who maked good ones these days? Have they solved the carrier bounce/buffer tube eating issues?
I don't go below 4lbs for my pistol triggers. What's good for a rifle you will use for everything from fighting to competition to training? I am new to fancy rifle triggers.
Pork chop seasoning. I want to try something new. Any ideas welcome.
LWRCI for piston stuff. Only place I would go. They kinda pioneered it in AR platforms. But piston ARs are yucky.
Larue MBT two stage is the one and only true answer. Amen and awomen.
Bad Byron's butt rub is my go to for pork. But I also like plowboys yardbird seasoning on just about everything but my wife's clit.
I've heard of bad byrons before. That sounds like the thing to try. Thanks man. Also i think you're right on the lwrc if i go that route.
Brown sugar, red pepper, instant coffee, and paprika. Sear it, then broil to 165F
Now that's the stuff mah 'tist.
My go to tigger is the laRue MBT-2s. But I’m used to two stage triggers since the P99AS trigger is sorta kinda like that.
That's some good stuff.
Honestly i prolly need to gucci the fuck out of my aero build.
Get the larue trigger, a good BCG, and a barrel that's 4150 steel w/Chrome lined chamber and barrel. I know some people will say nitride is just as good, but who knows what the future holds as far as getting replacement barrels will be. Chrome lined barrels will just last longer.
I'm looking for a 20" pencil barrel that's chrome lined a non-f marked FSB. Going to build a C7 (Aka A1 with brass deflector) upper. Luth-Ar has a C7 upper with M4 feed ramps.
The aero build i was speaking of is a .308 12.5 pistol. Piston question was overall future shit. And damn you're right on replacement part lengevity.
Machinists are always popular people.
I kinda want to build a straight up carry handle upper fence post 16a2 or, in my wildest fantasies, a pistol version of the rifle from "Heat", well, not wildest. Wildest is full auto bareback fucking full auto. SIGH.
Holy shit i want an FNC and to talk more about "Heat". Fuck i love being drunk and talking about that movie.
Heat was an incredible movie that really understood how ridiculous it is that full auto weapons arent sold at convenience stores. I think it’s basically the brooding, estranged mother of Collateral that beat me when I stole her vodka.
Ever watched collateral on a big screen with an HK USP 45 under your shirt in a shoulder rig?
It's awesome. Fucking A i love that movie. Every time i saw it in theaters i was the only one that laughed at the briefcase scene.
If you had $5000 to spend on one gun and accessories on that one gun, what would you pick?
I'd love an HK MP5 with a stock, VFG, and select fire. Definitely can't get that last spec with the provided budget, though. Thanks a lot, Reagan.
Except MP5/10 instead
Build a $1500-2000 ar15 or a ar10.
Including optics, light, laser, sling, etc...
And 3k worth of ammo.
Ammo prices are bad now, but they are about to get retarded, imo.
Ammo prices already full window licker. Even the normies are stocking up.
Do not question the reachable depths of retardation of autists vs gov stupidity.
It’s lovecraftian. A horror so deep that, while you may be able to see it exists, you will never understand it.
Que the ominous monoliths.
HK MR762 and a trijocon acog, surefire light. The rest on mags and ammo.
I love HK handguns so much but cannot imagine how to afford one of those rifles.
There aren’t enough dicks in the world to make the kind of cash id need for an HK arsenal.
G36K, MP5s aplenty, the rumored P7M7 in .45 acp that exists only in prototypes.
MK23s are so fun too. I say this as a devout HK45C fan.
.45 P7?
I’m going to count to three.
I'd blow it all on night vision and run what i brung otherwise
Anyone know a good site (USA) for 80% or parts kits that isn't sold out or insanely overpriced?
No, but Lmk when you find out.
Does anyone have experience with making cut shells? No matter how bad things have gotten over the last year I have always been able to find birdshot at my local grocery stores. Birdshot is cheap to manufacture, not considered lethal by most, and shotguns are one of the few things our new president hasn't talked about outright banning.
I've watched a few tutorials on making cut shells but was wondering if anyone here had experience with their reliability, accuracy, pattern, etc.
Iraqivet8888 and and I think Taufledermaus have some tests with cut shells. Taufledermaus has a multitude of videos on unconventional shotgun loads and wax slugs and have ballistic tests on them.
I haven't made cut shells, but have made a few wax slugs. I chickened out and never shot them though after I saw a video of someone's barrel blowing up shooting them. People talked about it and attribute it to low wax/shot heat in the production process not making a firm bond to the shell and allowing the projectile to slide down the barrel if tipped down and causing a kind of odd powder burn and overpressure kinda like a squib. Anyways, I know that cut shells are cheep, quick, and simple, but they can cause higher barrel pressures and more stress on your barrel since you're forcing the the additional thickness of the hull down the barrel. I'd stock up on birdshot, make wax slugs when you have the time, and cut shells when you don't. There's only that one instance I know of with that guy having problems with wax slugs. I've thought about making an induction heater to heat the shot inside the shell just enough to melt wax so you could just drop the wax in till it's full and make wax slugs faster and easier.
Went by my local academy today. Even the shotgun shells are now cleaned out, even the expensive duck hunting non-toxic shit that's $30 a box. Went by the Wal-Mart across the street and same story: not a box of ammo in the store. Went by Dicks just to see...and nada there as well. Even the shotgun shells are gone now.
With talk of secret police forming, reeducation camps, etc. from the non-enlightened thinkers on the left people know what is coming. I think they knew last year when things really hit the fan.
During the Obama years I could easily walk into a Walmart down at the farm and pick up a 100 round box of shotgun shells and go shoot clays.
Talking with the guy at the counter one of the things he was saying is that while the ammo factories are up and running 24/7 that they are doing so at reduced capacity because of COVID limiting them to 25 - 50% capacity of the building.
And some more instructions: https://youtu.be/iaEV5NxxFv4
They should stop fucking around with that reduced capacity shit and make ammo at full speed. We are going to need it.
Maybe implement business sense amd purchase more building space since the desire for ammo is clearly not receding.
serious drunk questin
wen we getting a weekly autistic question thread? I want autisticgunnit back
Did thedarnald.win get nuked? "Get on the train you filthy nazi swine" - some beret wearing tranny poking a bayonet into your back, circa 2021
I think it changed to “patriots.win”
Correct.
I'm about to get a cheap 22 mag to carry in my car. Little handier than my current car or truck gun which is an SKS with a couple extra strippers. Plus I I've gotta lot of 22 mag and it's still available. I've got a CMR now that is fucking badass but I'd hate for something to happen to it. Anyone know of any good 16.5 inch barrel levers that are affordable? Preferably with a loading gate. Henrys are too expensive and most you load my taking the tube out. I've got a Winchester 94 with a 20 barrel and it's like that. I looked at a Savage bolt action (can't remember model #) but I would rather have a lever. Thanks in advance fellow tists
I'm not aware of any lever .22 that has a loading gate. If you don't want a Henry, then you'll have to get a used BL-22 or Win 94-22, which wouldn't be any cheaper. An alternative would be a Ruger LCRx or something, which actually would be cheaper. You could affordably dual-wield Heritage Rough Riders for that matter
Remember that .22 doesn't last long in humidity, aka hot humid car, if they aren't wax-sealed.
Well I guess I'm going with a bolt gun then. I just didn't want to have to fool with mags in my car gobag. All I have seen have 5 rd mags. You know of anything bigger? And ammo going bad won't be too big of an issue at least while we can still get some. I'll shoot up a box week at minimum just shooting at crap on the side of the road haha. That's not counting if I actually set out to go shooting. I try not to dip into my reserves at home for any caliber while I can still buy some so I just buy enough to shoot
20mm bolter?
