Getting less than 100 comments on each weekly question thread so I'm moving this thread to Bi-Curious, I mean Bi-Monthly.
ask all of your Bi-Curious (but serious) questions here. Unfortunately, all of the users here are faggots so the answers will be one-sided. It's up to you to determine if that side is Top or Bottom
Let’s see you wanted to make a short benis for basement LARPing. Hypothetically, I’ll just randomly say a 7.5” 300AAC that could possibly accept a Silent Pickle for optimal 9” barrel length.
Anyway, if you plan on using it for room to room goon shit and are probably just going to toss irons and an RMR on it, how faggy would offsetting one of those optics be?
For room to room you need 2-8x and PEQ15. An offset reddot would look cool as fuck. So not faggy at all. Only faggy if you lose the whisper pickle up your batty.
Rmr and offset irons? Kinda faggy unless it's meme rifle. Any kind of variable or magnified and offset irons? Makes much more sense.
The rmr is easier to cowitness with folding buis than other shit.
Why would I want a variable magnified for same-room engagements? Uncle I’m already seeing double I don’t need to see double-sized double. That’s, like... four double doubles.
Ooh I’m hungry.
So you can spawn camp from an upstairs window.
But then I’d switch to the hypothetical 5.56 or .308 IS NOBODY LISTENING TO ME
We're just worried you won't be able to reach your full potential and want you to have the tools to succeed nephew.
Build the gun you want and meme it good. Be happy!
MAWP
Cuz mor.
But more magnify = more stepper and more step = bad
6 volt flashlight and tuck a shotgun under your arm.
Instructions unclear. Stuck flashlight in ass cheeks and carrying a 6” shotgun
How did my 401k fund take a shit in January by over 25% when the market is still high and there's literally helicopter retard money propping up every stock known to man?
You obviously shorted gamestop
[laughs in WSB]
Looks like WSB's reddit and discord were both nuked
I didn't do shit except pick a crappy vanguard fund from the list on my employer 401k. I'm sure those idiots all got great year end bonuses before they took a shit on me.
Literally pick from the IBD Top 50, or search for 'best ETFs'. 5+ % a year should be very easy, but I try to beat the S&P 500, which isn't too difficult after some research.
PM me your picks for February. I'll send back toes bb
What did you invest in almost every stock is going up?
VTI
You need to buy retard stocks.
I heard that the Benelli supernova is a favorite on competition shooting of some kind. Is this true? Just idly curious. I've always liked the platform as a smooth shooting corrosion resistant pump shotgun.
Heck, I'd even get a Nova if the damn barrels didn't cost as much as the gun.
On second thought, I'd probably get 2 novas. One for birbs and another for tweakers.
Birbs don’t real they’re just spy drones
That's Benelli life. I literally cried for joy when promag made a collapsible stock for the M4.
I wish mag extensions weren't so damn much. It's been a low priority but i still have a supernova that needs a mesa tactical side saddle and a tube extension.
The spaghetti fascists do make some pretty solid competition scattergats but you’ll likely pay at least two dozen hipoints for em.
I think i paid like 4 or 5 for my supernova a long time ago. The M4 was....a fucking lot more.
That’s because the M4 was in Resident Evil and COD. Gotta rack up those logo bucks
It's also the combat shotgun of the USMC and, literally a Ferrari for blowing giant holes in things. So smoothness and joy....
It's used for Heavy Metal 3-gun, which requires a 12ga pump. It's popular for its smoothness, and for how easy it is to shape the loading port (plastic) to facilitate quad-loading.
Waitaminute, you mean the sexual Tyrannosaurus shooting comp where everything has to .45 and .308 also has a shotgun already i own and am intimately familiar with as a popular option? (Heavy breathing)
If you can show up with a 12.5 ar10 pistol and i can ever find ammo again i am sooooo fucking excited.
Super seriously, heavy metal had always appealed to me due to my intimacy with the HK45C.
Local club has targets out to 500yd in our multigun matches, (i suspect just to make indoor-range zoomers from the city cry), but I'm sure that most stages can be cleared with a 12.5" easy
Fuck it, i'll do that shit with a 12.5. What, that's like a 5inch ish drop? I can Kentucky windage and shit. Fucking A i can't wait.
Inches, feet, yards. Definitely 5 of something though, yeah.
What is your rifle cleaning policy?
Is it by specific time interval, number of rounds, when it looks nasty, when you are bored, or something else?
I shoot. I clean. A few months or so. I clean, oil and such.
My cleaning regimen is pretty simple. Wipe off the carbon and fouled lube, oil up and boresnake and then reassemble and reload.
I clean when they start to hiccup or get disgusting (suppressed stuff). Having a home range there's no way in hell I'm cleaning every time and it's also not necessary at all. ARs get run wet and put away wet and pistols should go easily 1,000 rounds without any issues. If your gun won't run 1,000 without cleaning there is something wrong.
Even my mk4 running suppressed on shit ammo will run ~2000 rounds before any malfunctions start - and even then it's usually the occasional light strike.
Thing ends up fucking grody af though.
Yes.
Whenever I'm bored after a few range sessions, or before a competition or class
This, but also sometimes when I am watching streams and expecting a same-night hootanany.
Clean after every time I shoot more than 200 rounds. It’s an OCD thing I guess
Favorite handgun that isn’t a Glock? I only have one handgun and I want to diversify. Glocks are too vanilla for me
.45-70 Mare's leg. You only get 3+1 but with fireballs like that you disable your target even if you miss.
*You also deafen yourself too, so just load with black powder and use the smoke cloud to run away.
I now sexually identify as a Mare's Leg
10mm 1911 or a silenced 22 pistol. Both fun to shoot for different reasons.
I really like my 1858 Remington with a conversion cylinder. Big Iron. And you can get it shipped to your door.
My friend's Springfield (I know, I know, not my gun tho) jamteen in .45 is insanely smooth and I shot it way more accurately than I do any of my striker-fired nines.
I love my Makarov. I don't shoot it super well, but the engineering behind it is brilliantly simplistic. Only 23 separate parts and it can be stripped down to the everything but the pinned barrel just using its standard issue cleaning rod.
Wheel gats are fun. I'm waiting for someone to make a .327 federal lever gat so I can justify buying a .327 federal wheel gat too.
I still search the interwebs for justification to go back to carrying a jamteen instead of a G19.
I just can't justify it technically for serious use, as much as I love the 1911.
Agreed. It's why I own 4 striker fired 9mms and the only jamteen i have is a .22.
I'm just saying I like how jamteens in OG caliber shoot
Oh, I've got a pair of jamteens in 45. Still my favorite gun to shoot to this day.
The G19 actually makes me a little sad. It's the disposable bic pen of the shooting world.
Glocks suck. I love my ruger mark iv tactical suppressed. It's the funnest gun I own to shoot. But after that I'm going p320 x five. Smooth as butter and it just fits me. And my hi point c9 cuz it's a pimping good time.
GOA seems to actually care about taking action. I think there’s one called the 2A Foundation (or similar) that is supposed to do a lot of legal work.
2AF is where my Amazon smile $ goes to
GOA, Firearms Policy Coalition and my personal favorite, the 2nd amendment foundation.
Take a moment and review their website. They do court cases and the tend to win. They fight in court to set legal precedents for the 2nd amendment that will keep the antigun filth more at bay.
And i don't know why it matters what faggots are in your state fren. Fuck those filth, they are everywhere.
Can anyone say anything nice about the SKS? I thought about selling mine, replacing it with an AK. But it's the first gun I bought, it holds a special place in my heart. Yea, I was 18 and wanted to save the three hundred bucks. Seems like the AK is better in every way. Anyone have anything nice to say about it?
Related to #1. Looking to an AK. Any recommendations? I was thinking of getting a pistol with a brace, probably 10" barrel. Also considering a rifle with a folding stock, or maybe a buffer tube adapter. Not an under folder though. Is that 6 inches enough of a difference to make a difference? I make my wife happy with 4.
Anyone using airshit for training in the ammo shortage? I thought about it, but when the weather turns my nips to diamonds, the c02 doesn't work as well.
Depending on your particular SKS and depending on which AK you want, you might be better off keeping the SKS. If it's a tactifucked SKS with no hope of returning to original, then dump it and find a AK-47 rifle in your budget. In my experience, shorty AK pistols are too loud and unwieldy to do anything except make fireballs at the range and piss people off standing near you.
If you have a numbers matching SKS, then it's going to continue to increase in value over time whereas an AK at today's prices might hold its value and then only increase in value if there's an AWB during the Harris administration. If the market ever catches up and there's no AWB, then people paying 1000-1500 for AK rifles right now are going to be losing a lot of money.
The AK market is nuts right now, price-wise. I just sold a Draco for a little over a grand. I sold VZ58 (not an AK, I know) for $900. The bottom barrel AK's from shitty importers are going for way more than a comparable AR-15 right now, and that's if you can even find one for sale.
I understand the appeal of AK47 and 74 rifles, they are a helluva lot of fun to shoot but is there another reason you want an AK and not a different type of rifle? For the reason I shoot guns, the AK is just a range toy for me and I have enough of those already.
Finally, don't sell anything until you have it replaced with something else. There's basically nothing available at reasonable prices and there's a chance if you sell what you've got you won't be able to replace it for quite some time.
Not in a huge rush to sell or get an AK. It's a Norinco. Everything original, except the magazine. Bayonet, cleaning rod, and cleaning kit. I changed the buttplate for a thicker one for a longer length of pull. Felt like a kid's gun. I still have the original buttplate.
I like 7.62x39. I just wanted something a little more comfortable to shoot in that caliber. I already have an AR, shotgun, etc. I have most of my bases covered, just thinking of another range toy. With how high ammo prices are now, thinking of black powder.
I really like zastava.
They make great stuff. I buy my BLYATS from Atlantic and have had nothing but great experiences with them. Just gotta watch stock.
Alot handier and useful in day to day life. And to me, they are a little more accurate to SHOOT. I prefer my Aks in almost every way but I actually use and tote my SKS way more. I ordered a buttstock pouch forever ago for mine that holds 3 loaded stripper clips so I've go 40 rds with the gun at all times. Ak with one mag in has 30 and weighs alot more.
Also no sell buy only retard
SKS all the way man, love the accuracy.
I've been been having a lot of trouble deciding on a light to buy. Ive been looking at the streamlight protac series but am worried about the extra weight/bulk and chinese manufacturing. Would get a surefire but they are out of my price range. Currently leaning towards an Inforce WMLx but it isn't rechargeable.
General Criteria:
Any recommendations?
I don't know details and i don't care but streamlight.
Went with streamlight protac hlx
I’m not entirely sure the product you want exists if Chinese manufacture isn’t an option
Pick a streamlight or surefire that fits your needs from a size perspective. Stop worrying about lumens. Specs are mostly a lie anyway -- the Chinese manufacturers especially just cut and paste the emitter specs.
The Chinese lights are more "feature rich" because their circuitry is more complex and they spend less time testing it.
I want to mount a streamlight hlx to my sub 2000. Should I spend the extra $15 on the magpul aluminum mlok cantilever mount vs the polymer one? I will be removing the light every time i store the gun so I am a bit worried about wear. I'm also afraid if it lands on the flashlight the polymer cantilever rail could break
Either are fine. Wear isn’t going to be much of an issue with a quality polymer and they’re surprisingly tough. Get whichever one you want but there’s not really any reason to go with metal over polymer for occasional use
Thanks ill go with the polymer!
Consider that polymer flexing and or breaking limits the forces applied to the gun it's attached to. Kind of like a mechanical fuse. Light mounts cost less than rifles, and lights that don't blink are less likely to kill you than guns that don't bang.
If you are moving fast and get that light hung up on a concrete wall, you WANT the mount to break.
If i wanted to buy the serialized parts of an FAL but was poor af what would i do?
Especially with an eye towards ease of building later?
Try to find an Imbel receiver somewhere. Then find a kit for the rest of the gun and then send off to Arizona Response Systems or something like that and have them put it together.
What parts swap directly between a Glock 17 & Glock 19 without mods?
same generation glocks?
Yes, gen 3 specifically. Sorry for that omission.
