Nearly half the population, concentrated in urban centers, is either part of a secular cult or in thrall to it. Entitlement is a major part of the cult, and they have been used to getting their way for a very long time, financed by infinite government debt. It has to change, one way or another, as reality sets in, and they're not going to like it.
So no, it's not going to get better. At best, there is a short-term lull (maybe) if they get exactly what they want in the election, like a withdrawing heroine addict finally getting a dose. But it only makes the problem worse -- the addiction is reinforced, and the eventual conflict with reality becomes more inevitable and intense.
I'm 100% on board with your thoughts on entitlement.
Gotta hard disagree on the secular thing. Theocratic government is even worse. Ask the catholic church if you want to know more. Lol, everyone forgets the vatican is an independent state because mussolini made it that way.
I don't think anyone is suggesting a theocratic govt. But some religion and subservience to something larger than ourselves is always a good thing IMO. Keeps a man (and woman) grounded
I guess for me it's more about submission and humbleness to something I'm ultimately accountable to. Not so much about actual rules and shit... but more like God's out there and He can strike me down whenever He chooses so I need to keep my shit straight while I'm on this Earth.
But some religion and subservience to something larger than ourselves is always a good thing IMO
Not a fan of religion, but I always thought the 7th Generation Principle was something more people should be aware of.
It is believed to have originated with the Iroquois – Great Law of the Iroquois – which holds appropriate to think seven generations ahead (about 140 years into the future) and decide whether the decisions they make today would benefit their children seven generations into the future.
"Secular cult" just differentiates it from being a "religious cult." It's not that a secular worldview makes you a member of the cult, any more than a religious worldview makes you a member of a religious cult. The DNCult is a toxic blend of Critical Race Theory and Marxism.
I mean, when has a centrally-planed command-and-control economy with big promises of social services, combined with hyper-racial grievance politics ever gone wrong before?

I can see that point. I have a belief system myself that keeps me in mind of what is important.
I reckon it's like anything where moderation and careful thought are key.

If that makes sense?

I've never heard of that but I dig it!!
Reminds me of The Bridge Builder:

Hmm I see a parallel between boomers and some millennials
