As the election dawns upon us, I think we all are a little afraid of what is to happen if Biden wins. No meme, I need an AR-15 and fast. I was going to buy a kit from PSA but those continue to skyrocket in price. Where can I buy a decent affordable rifle? I don’t need anything fancy I just need something soon. Please help me.

You're late and behind. Buy an alternative gun. You might also want an alternative caliber so you can get ammo. You have just enough time to go find a gun and sight it in if you dont have a waiting period.
The election is literally tomorrow. If you want a security blanket sit down and make a list of all the gun stores near you. Pawn Shops. The hive of scum and villainy that is armslist will scalp you but there is that too.
Loosen your criterion. You wan a semi automatic longgun that isn't hot garbage at this point. I saw a SU16 NIB when I was out yesterday getting a new shovel handle. Good luck finding cartirges though.
Do you have any guns at all now?
I have a 10/22, an 870, and a m&p shield.
Buy more shotgun shells. Do you have a security length barrel yet? Might be prudent to buy one. Magazine tube extension maybe. Sling and a light. https://www.gggaz.com/870-mag-extension.html
000, 00, and #1 buckshot you see in your rounds to the stores should get bought just in case.
70 yard max effective range with 00. Each shell is a burst. Its the best thing you own now.
It will be easier to kit out your shotgun than to find a new rifle, new ammo, and accessories right now.
If you want to try the locals for rifles.
Hit the local shops looking for a common semiautomatic rifle if you want. .30-06, .308win, .243win, 6mm Grendel, 300AAV Blk, 7.62x39.., 5.45x39mm etc. Something Fudd will be more likely to have ammo on the shelf right now.
Mini 14, Mini 20, BAR, Woodmaster, RDB, RFB, M1a, M14, AR15, AR10, AKM, SKS, Garand, SCR, etc.
You could buy a short slug barrel for defense. It prolly isnt the shortest but will work great for up close patterning.
I would say slugs are a great choice too!
What did you find?
Everyone will mock you but Ruger 10/22's are a reliable semiauto, still on store shelves, $330, can be fitted with 110 round mags, and at least where I live there is still .22Lr on the shelves. When push comes to shove an 8y.o.'s first gun is better than no gun. Should've planned ahead guy.
Yup. If l had nothing else, my teen's Marlin model 60 .22 LR would do the job.
Same idea, but I picked up a Winchester wildcat for my 79 year old father. Same ability to use 10/22 magazines, but 3.5 pounds. He just can't handle the recoil of even .30 carbine, but a .22. In the real world, rounds down range gets heads down. Doesn't matter if it's a .22 or a .50BMG people duck from incoming fire.
I didn't buy any guns this year. I did inherit some and they were in calibers I didn't own and didn't stock. So I've been buying .38SPL, .357 Mag, .45ACP, and .243 when I could find it. Although .243 just went out of stock a couple weeks ago because deer season.
Mr. GunsNGear made a video about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBBaP0BBUMc
For the AR15s he said Radical Firearms. Now that company has a questionable past. But from what I've read, they have turned their QC around and do make a decent budget rifle for under $1000. You aren't getting a Daniel Defense or Noveske AR. But for a basic rifle they aren't bad.
Still too expensive for you? Bottom of the barrel: CBC https://www.cbcpfa.com/ upper with an Anderson lower.
They function and that's about all I can say about them. CBC does not sell complete rifles so you'll have to get your own lower and put that together yourself. But you'll save a few bucks that way.
Either way, you waited for the last moment so get fucked. Prices will only increase. Especially if Biden gets elected.
You already waited way too long. Prepare to pay way too much. Get a lower from anyone, buy it built in case you can't find the parts and then get an upper. Anderson arms, radical and PSA are your friends.
Now understand you won't have any ammo to test your new gat.
Good luck.
Spend $1,000 on a DIY-quality AR, then spend another $500 on the rounds required to get comfortable shooting it.
Today's the wrong day to pick up a new firearm unless shit pops off and today's the last day you'll have the chance.
Don’t get anything in 9mm or 5.56mm unless you want to spend an obnoxious amount on ammo. If Biden wins ammo prices are going to get even worse and good guns will be scarce and overpriced if available.
Seriously consider an SKS or used AK. Will likely be cheaper than an AR-15 and the ammo is cheaper. Both guns are more expensive than normal but still cheaper than an AR-15 (especially an SKS)
Go SKS. no bubba either if you can help it. Keep the factory 10 round mag and learn how to use the strips well. Order plenty of them, a Chicom sks chest rig, buttstock cleaning kit, and buttstock strip clip pouch. I use that setup as get home rig
buy a rifle and thousands of rounds last year.
even 8 months ago I'd have said to a nogunz, get an ar15.
but now that any good ammo is like 70 cpr and out of stock, get a 7.62x39 AK. WASR10, any Arsenal, Zastava, Cugir, VEPR. The newest PSA aks are gtg (anything GF3 and newer) as well. Avoid Century or IO entirely.
You can also go for more HQ domestic builders but they'll run a premium.
Our scout and m4 piston model AR15's are under $1000 and we can have them built and shipped out in 48hrs.
But what do they do that a PSA with a stalled gas key and castle nut won't?
Not fucking with you, honestly curious.
Psa is selling ar-15s with the a2 gas block for under 600$ on their daily deal
First, define what affordable means to you, $500, $750, $1000?
Brownell’s has the WWSD rifle on preorder right now. They’ll ship soon. They’re expensive but that price was set a year ago before Corona inflation. If you get one you’re at least not paying the Rona tax.
get ak. 762.39
get a 7.62x39 upper from BCA, slap it on a lower and buy cheap irons from amazon. Try to find a magazine from a local gun store.
Cash n carry an 80% lower, get you a jig, and then buy all the rest. You can pick up a lot of it at Cabela's or a local gun shop, cash is king if you can.
You can buy a decent AR-15 about 11 months ago. Same goes for ammo.
Pay the 20-50% markup and be at the mercy of the LGS. Do eet today.
Same boat. So I finished building my AR in July, it took about a year and roughly $800 to get it how I wanted it. Then, a buddy for mine offered my $1500 for it so I sold. I was thinking maybe getting a Mini14 or a M1A and a .45 Walther once the election hubbub settles down.
Unrelated: I may need to borrow a gun for the boog if thats ok
classic firearms currently has a bunch of ~$600 ARs for sale.
Ok hear me out because this is going to sound retarded but if Biden wins we are going to have a buffer period of about 4 months before they could start grabbing, I'm going to recommend to you that you go out tomorrow and buy as many magazines as you can. I live in a state with a 10 round magazine limit with the exception of mags made before the awb. A single 30 round ar mag is currently going for $140 at my lgs and keeps going up weekly. You can always mill out an 80% later, even during the awb you could always get upper parts kits but standard capacity mags are going to be the first target.
Build it pussy
