Lots of things take SR25 mags.
And you needed a .308 anyway. Everyone does. It's the .45 of the rifle world. It has an aura of freedom around it that is tangible.
Uncle be straight with me, if the first .308 I want to get is the M1A Standard Issue so I can load via stripper clips, does this make me a fudd piece-of communist?
Get a G3/prt91. They are nicer and more ergonomic anyway.
Not a bad suggestion, however if I wanted a pistol grip I would do it right by getting an FAL to make New Rhodesia great again.
I thought the M1A was 30-06? Unless there is a model I am unfamiliar with.
And no, wanting a badass piece of American history in gun form makes you awesome. My FFL also wants one of those and he's a country gentleman and loves America like I do.
Guns are fucking awesome.
Help me out here beloved nephew.
When I get my AR10ish build done do I do it baby shit green camo or grey snakeskin?
Can't decide atm. Torn between both while I wait for my drop in trigger to arrive.
It is funny you should mention that because I thought the same but apparently Springfield builds them chambered in .308 now (which honestly I would prefer to have the lighter cartridge and so would my wallet), perhaps time-was this was not always the case. t depends on if you want to truly flex on the Fudds or just impress them Uncle.
In my opinion Green camo is never out of place on a full length rifle (Carbines are another case) especially of the baby-shit variety. However the Snakeskin would be pretty styling, it is one of those you scoff in public but on the inside you are like 'Damn, that looks pretty damn fly.' It was kind of like when I put pearl grips on my hand-me-down Stainless.45 Fudd Blaster to make it look like Jules' pistol from Pulp Fiction, sure it looks tacky but in its own way I find it quite stylish.
That sounds awesome on the pearl grips. Did you know that in that movie they used 9mm 1911s because they couldn't at that time get .45 blanks to go off reliably? Same as in "the wild-bunch".
At fabric stores they sell a kind of mesh fabric like they use in laundry bags that makes a great stencil for aforementioned snakeskin pattern. That is how I painted my bolt action savage and my beloved PSA AR ol' Bessie. Both in FDE and black.
Thinking of grey for my AR10 because it would be cool.
Thanks for bringing up the .308. I will tell my FFL homey about it as that sounds like just his speed.
