If I'm building a SHTF AR (5.56), what upper would you recommend that wont break the bank? I definitely want it to be carbine length gas system.

Right on, thanks. I do have a vortex strikefire II, and it gets the job done but it's big for a red dot. Forgot about aimpoint, I'll check them out.

Need a decent optic for ARs. Not looking for optical zoom. What's your favorite? Sig, holosun, eotech?

By the looks of the tapered front handguard and the rear sight akin to a G3 I dont think it's a FAL. SIG commando of sorts?

From what I've read it helps reduce wear on internals from overgassing, which also keeps those gasses from getting into your eyes.

Have an AR lower to build and I want to do a .300BLK 10.5" with suppressor. For the upper, would it be better to buy everything individually, or get one pre-assembled? I'm guessing I'll want an adjustable gas block to help vent excess gas with the can. Thoughts?

My favorite part of the soviet rounds is that they all have the same overall shape, but are just scaled differently. The same also applies to their fighter aircraft.
